A good solid wood stool is one of the most useful things in a house. It is an extra seat when guests arrive, a bedside table in a small room, a plant stand by a window, and a step for reaching the top shelf of an almari. Because it is solid wood, it can be re-polished and will outlast many trends.
Bar stools
For a kitchen counter or breakfast bar, check the counter height first. As a guide, leave about 10 to 12 inches between the seat and the underside of the counter, and about 2 ft of counter width per stool. Counters around 36 inches high usually suit a seat around 24 to 26 inches; bar-height counters around 42 inches suit a seat around 29 to 30 inches. Check the seat height listed on each product.
Care
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away. Keep wooden stools out of standing water on bathroom and kitchen floors, and re-oil or polish when the surface starts to look dry.

What bar stool height do I need?
Measure from the floor to the counter top and leave about 10 to 12 inches between the seat and the underside of the counter. A 36 inch kitchen counter usually suits a 24 to 26 inch seat; a 42 inch bar counter suits a 29 to 30 inch seat. Each product lists its seat height.
Can a wooden stool be used as a side table?
