Choosing single beds
Single bed sizes in Pakistan
Single beds in Pakistan are built around 3 ft and 3.5 ft wide mattresses, usually 6.5 ft long. The frame is a little larger than the mattress.

Two 3 ft singles placed side by side cover the same footprint as a 6 x 6.5 ft king mattress, which makes a pair of singles a flexible choice for a guest room.
Single bed designs for a girl's or boy's room
A child's bed should grow with the child. Rather than a theme that will feel babyish in three years, choose a simple solid wood frame and add colour with bedding, cushions and a painted headboard panel that can be redone later. For a girl's room, a soft poshish headboard in a pastel fabric is popular; for a boy's room, a plain wood panel or a low platform frame. Both work in Sheesham or Kail.
Storage under the bed
Children's rooms are always short of storage. Single beds can be made with two drawers on the side or a lift-up box base for toys, school things and spare bedding. Drawers need about 2 ft of clear floor beside the bed.
Two children, one room
If floor space is tight, look at bunk beds. If the room is wide enough, two single beds with a shared side table between them are easier to make up and safer for small children.

Rounded corners and a smooth, sealed polish matter in children's rooms. Wipe spills quickly, tighten bolts once a year and keep the bed away from damp walls in the monsoon.
