Dining table sizes in feet
Each person needs about 2 ft of table edge to eat comfortably. Use this table as a starting point; we build to your room.

Leave about 3 ft between the table edge and the wall so chairs can slide back and someone can walk behind them.
Wood, glass or marble top
A solid wood top is warm, quiet under plates and can be re-polished after years of family meals; it is the practical choice for daily use. Glass over a wooden base shows off a carved frame and suits smaller rooms, but needs regular cleaning. Marble is heavy and cool to the touch but can stain from acidic food. If you want glass or marble on one of our bases, ask us and we will tell you honestly what we can source and fit.
Is Sheesham good for a dining table?
Yes. Sheesham is hard (about 1,660 lbf on the Janka scale, Wood Database), so it resists dents from plates and cutlery, and its heartwood is rated durable to very durable. It takes a hard-wearing polish and can be sanded and refinished in years to come. Solid Sheesham parts carry our 50-year Sheesham wood guarantee.
Other options: Akhrot (walnut) for a rich brown grain, Diyar for a lighter look, and Teak on request.
Shape and base
Rectangular tables seat the most people in a long room. Round tables suit square rooms and make conversation easier. Pedestal bases give more knee room than four corner legs. For an 8 or 10 seater, a centre leg or stretcher adds stiffness.
Chairs
Sets come with matching chairs, but you can buy dining chairs separately to add seats, put upholstered chairs at the ends, or replace older chairs.
Care
Use mats and trivets under hot dishes, wipe spills straight away, and avoid wet cloths left on the polish. Keep the table out of strong direct sun.
Delivery and custom sizes
Large tables travel with the legs detached and are fitted in your home anywhere in Islamabad or Rawalpindi. For a long narrow room, a bench, or a table copied from a photo, use custom furniture.

What is the size of a 6 seater dining table in feet? And an 8 seater?
A rectangular 6 seater is usually about 5 to 6 feet long and 3 feet wide; an 8 seater about 7 to 8 feet long and 3.5 feet wide. Round tables are about 4 to 4.5 feet across for six and 5 feet for eight. Leave about 3 feet around the table for chairs.
Wood, glass or marble top dining table: which is better?

Do you make extendable dining tables?
Tell us about the room and how many guests you seat at a dawat, and we will advise whether an extension leaf design or a larger fixed table suits better. Extension mechanisms are made to order, so we confirm the design and price before building.
