Choosing sofas & sectionals
Choose the layout first

Measure the wall and the walkway before you choose. Leave about 3 ft for the main path through the room and 16 to 18 inches between the sofa and the center table.
Wooden sofa or fully upholstered?
A wooden sofa (sofa ka design lakdi wala) shows the frame: carved or plain arms, legs and back rails in solid wood, with loose or fixed cushions. It is formal, easy to dust and the frame can be re-polished. A fully upholstered sofa hides the frame under padding and fabric, and feels softer and more relaxed. Both last for decades if the frame is right; the difference is in looks and how you use the room.
The frame decides everything
Whatever the style, look under the fabric. Our sofa frames are seasoned solid wood, glued and screwed at the joints, with springs or webbing and high-density foam on top. Low-cost sofas often use chipboard and staples, which loosen within a few years. Sheesham is our usual frame wood; its solid parts carry the 50-year Sheesham wood guarantee. Fabric and foam can be replaced later without replacing the sofa.
Fabric
Velvet looks rich in a drawing room but shows marks. A tightly woven fabric or suede-style microfibre handles daily family use better. Leather and leatherette wipe clean easily. Choose a mid-to-dark shade for the lounge, and see swatches at our Golra Road showroom.
Woods for exposed parts
Sheesham for a warm reddish-brown finish and carving, Akhrot (walnut) for a rich brown grain, Teak for clients who want it, and Diyar for a lighter tone.
Comfort: seat depth and height
Sit before you buy. A seat depth around 21 to 24 inches suits most adults who sit upright with guests; deeper seats suit lounging. A seat height of about 17 to 18 inches is comfortable for most people and easier for elders to rise from. Firmer foam keeps its shape for longer in a drawing room; softer foam feels relaxed in a family lounge but needs plumping. Tell us who uses the room and we will suggest the foam and seat depth.
Care
Plump loose cushions weekly, vacuum fabric with a soft brush, blot spills straight away, and keep the sofa out of strong afternoon sun. Dust wooden parts with a dry cloth.

Frequently asked questions
Wooden sofa or full upholstered sofa: which lasts longer?
Both last for decades if the frame is seasoned solid wood with glued and screwed joints. A wooden sofa's exposed frame can be re-polished, while an upholstered sofa may need new fabric and foam after many years. Choose by style and use: wooden for formal rooms, upholstered for relaxed family lounges.
What wood do you use for sofa frames?
Our usual frame wood is seasoned Sheesham, joined with glue and screws, not staples. For exposed arms and legs we also work in Akhrot, Diyar and Teak. Solid Sheesham frame parts are covered by our 50-year Sheesham wood guarantee; fabric and foam are not.
Can I choose the fabric and the number of seats?
Yes. Choose 2, 3, 5 or 7 seater layouts or an L shape, and pick your fabric type and colour from our swatches, or supply your own fabric. We confirm the design, sizes and fabric with you before the frame is made.
Do you make L shape sofas?
Yes. L shape sofas are made left or right handed to fit your wall exactly, usually in two or three sections so they pass through doors. Send us the length of both walls and the position of doors and windows, and we will suggest the right size.
Can you reupholster my sofa later?
If the frame is ours, yes: a solid wood frame outlasts several sets of fabric and foam. Contact us on WhatsApp with photos when the fabric is worn, and we will quote new foam and fabric for the same frame.
