Buying guide
Choosing mirrors & wall décor
Use a mirror to move light
A mirror placed on a wall facing or beside a window bounces daylight deeper into the room and makes a small space feel larger. In an entrance, a mirror at eye level gives a last look before leaving the house. Above a console, sideboard or dressing table, it anchors the piece and the wall together.
Size and height
As a guide, a mirror above furniture should be a little narrower than the piece below it, with the bottom edge around 6 to 10 inches above the top. Hang single pieces with their centre at about eye level, roughly 5 ft from the floor. Groups of smaller mirrors work well when treated as one shape, with even gaps between them.
Materials
Rattan and cane frames feel light and relaxed beside pale woods. Brass and dark frames suit Sheesham and walnut furniture. A carved wooden frame made to match your bed or dressing table can be ordered through custom furniture.
Where to start
If a wall feels empty, start with one large mirror or piece above the main furniture on that wall, rather than many small items scattered around. Let it breathe: leave space on either side. In bedrooms, a mirror opposite the bed can feel restless for some people; beside the dressing table or on a wardrobe door is often calmer.
Hanging safely
Use fixings suited to your wall: brick and concrete hold heavy mirrors well, while hollow or damp walls need special anchors. Check each product page for included hardware.

Frequently asked questions
How high should I hang a mirror?
Hang a single mirror with its centre at roughly eye level, about 5 feet from the floor. Above furniture, keep the bottom edge about 6 to 10 inches above the top of the piece, and choose a mirror a little narrower than the furniture below it.
Is hanging hardware included?
Check each product page. Where hanging hardware is included, it suits ordinary brick and concrete walls. For hollow, plasterboard or damp walls, use anchors made for that wall type, especially for heavier mirrors, and ask a carpenter or our team if you are unsure.
Can you make a wooden mirror frame to match my furniture?
Yes. We can make a carved or plain wooden mirror frame in Sheesham or another wood we use, matched to your bed, dressing table or console. Send a photo of the furniture and the mirror size you want through our custom furniture page, and we will quote it.
Where should a mirror go in a small room?
On a wall facing or beside a window, where it reflects daylight and makes the room feel larger and brighter. A tall mirror leaning against a wall also adds height. Avoid placing it where it reflects clutter, a busy doorway or a bathroom door.
